You owe it to yourself to read Tom McCahill's road test of the 1962 Thunderbird Sports Roadster, and especially his comments on the whole tonneau thing. It is in the May 1962 issue of Mechanix Illustrated along with a classic McCahill road test. Believe me, Tom was never one to hold back any journalistic punches with respect to the attributes (or lack thereof) of any vehicle tested.
